M365 Technical Architect

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reserve Bank's Cloud M365 Digital Transformation program early and influence this significant multi-year program. As an experienced and enthusiastic transition to Microsoft 365.
We are looking for a senior M365 cloud lead with cloud migration experience and extensive understanding of M365, Intune, Exchange, Purview, Azure, OneDrive, and SharePoint technologies as well as Networking and Infrastructure solutions to join our passionate and collaborative team who share their expertise, drive innovation, and solve complex business challenges. Someone with strong technical proficiency and big picture thinking to support the architecture, design, development, integration and operations of complex, scalable digital products in a large organisation.
We have recently upgraded to on-premise Office 365. The next step on the digital roadmap is to migrate mail to the cloud and enable mobile application support. OneDrive and SharePoint online will follow.

Role and responsibilities
M365 Cloud Transformation - Assess, Design, Plan and Deploy
- Provide technical strategic direction for M365 managed services, drive technical innovation
- Perform a current state assessment and develop migration strategy for adopting a modern workplace with Microsoft 365, including assessing the existing infrastructure, identifying migration, integration requirements, dependencies, and designing the solution to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
- Work with vendors to deliver an actionable end-to-end roadmap covering architecture, design, implementation, systems integration for migrating seamlessly from our legacy environments to Microsoft cloud services ensuring minimal disruption to users and data integrity - Teams, Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other related services
- Define deployment roadmap and provide guidance to the implementation team
- Lead migration of mailboxes Exchange on-prem to cloud working alongside client who will fulfil some activities
- Lead the design and development of enterprise-level solutions ensuring adherence to industry best practices, Bank goals, security and information governance, and performance requirements
- Deliver High Level Designs, Detail Level Design and Technical Maintenance Plans
- Design and configure collaboration features, such as Teams and SharePoint, to enable effective communication and collaboration within the Bank.
- Integrate Microsoft 365 with other systems and applications to streamline workflows and enhance productivity
- Determine how best to leverage the benefits of Microsoft 365 key features to unlock improved user experience, increase security, enhance availability, reporting, and monitoring
Your qualities
- Technically savvy and inquisitive by nature
- Extensive experience and expertise in designing, implementing, and migrating Microsoft 365 hybrid solutions, including a thorough understanding of Microsoft 365 applications, services, features, and licensing.
- Familiarity with technology and hands-on configuration
- Familiarity with MS partners and Fast Track
- Leader who will challenge designs and guide technical team
- Motivated with attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Azure and on-premise infrastructure components, such as Active Directory, networking, security, and identity management
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct in-depth analysis of existing systems, applications, and infrastructure, identifying gaps and recommending improvements
Technical skills
- M365 suite - SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Hybrid Cloud
- Azure, Intune, Purview, AD Connect, Certificate Authority
- Desired: Teams telephony, understanding of Zscaler technology
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology
- Relevant M365 certifications, such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert. Can demonstrate proficiency and expertise in Microsoft 365 architecture and administration
- Strong design, migration, and deployment experience with M365, ideally within the banking or finance sector
- Knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, network, virtualisation, and cloud computing
