Our client is seeking to engage an EL1 Assistant Director - Workforce Lead – Event Recruitment and Management
Location: Perth, WA
Employment: Non ongoing, 12 months
Eligibility/Security Requirement: Cleared National Police Check and Australian Citizenship
Purpose of the role
The Assistant Director - Workforce Lead provides oversight and assurance of the delivery of the Agency’s workforce in their jurisdiction. This includes assisting with attraction and recruitment of staff in difficult-to-recruit locations.
Using your sound stakeholder engagement and project management skills and people experience, you will implement a nationally consistent temporary workforce attraction model to deliver quality outcomes in relation to attracting suitable candidates to the workforce. You will work closely with your state or territory’s Operations team to oversee and understand their staffing requirements.
You will manage a small team of staff to monitor and manage timelines, milestones, and key contractual staffing deliverables.
Key position responsibilities:
- Ensure national consistency of workforce staffing by implementing the workforce model for temporary event staffing.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve work area and agency goals, and provide expert advice.
- Develop and analyse workforce data and provide recommendations for workforce attraction, sourcing, and prioritisation for their jurisdiction.
- Lead a small team to ensure high quality outputs and develop the capacity of these team members.
- Assist and oversee the contract management of external services and activities to ensure that all deliverables are compliant with all legislation and policy, in line with contemporary practice, within contractual arrangements and in the best interest of the agency.
- Undertake complex problem solving and make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise, and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant policy and procedures.
- Provide a significant contribution to event workforce business improvement strategies and activities.
Essential Requirements:
Security Clearance
- Character clearance, including a police check.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Mandatory
- Demonstrated experience in strategic workforce planning and reporting, as well as complex stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Knowledge of the management, reporting and delivery of large-scale recruitment projects, delivered within agreed timeframes and budget in a highly operational and legislated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work remotely as part of a geographically dispersed team and contribute positively to both the executive leadership team and provision of strong leadership more broadly within your state/territory office.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and empower staff while developing capabilities and encouraging career development.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to anticipate stakeholder needs and manage expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to propose and facilitate change that contributes to business improvement strategies in line with relevant policy and legislative frameworks.
Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in Human Resources (HR)
