Your opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to be accountable for the stewardship and delivery of data and “as a service” solutions encompassing automation, orchestration and its related technologies.

The Data Engineer works under the guidance of the Data Architect and works with business to build and deliver data solutions.  They will implement technical, DevOps, automation solutions.  Contribute to architectural discussions, investigate emerging trends and directions, and assist in the execution of the technical strategy for the team. They will ensure that work programs are compliant with approved architectural, privacy and regulatory standards and conform to the Technology and Strategic Plans.  

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Write and deploy high volume data applications to ingest, transform, and store data to be used in reporting, analytics, regulatory compliance, and marketing
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, reliability and performance of our Data platforms and systems infrastructure
  • Translate business and analytics requirements into technical solutions
  • Write and deploy ETL applications and scripts across a range of data sources and stores
  • Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing efficient and cost effective code)
  • Actively contribute to team and organizational standards
  • Responsible for the support of strategically and architecturally endorsed as a service solution, related technology and in support of key design principles
  • Building, managing, and supporting different environments through DevOps across the eco-system
  • Plan and manage cloud infrastructure requirements to meet achieving quality, fit for purpose designs
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement and manage and lead change
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for the platform and data solutions.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes

What you’ll bring

  • University degree in computer or software engineering (Bachelor or above degree)
  • Strong Experience implementing and delivery of data solutions using Azure data stack.
  • Building and maintaining enterprise data models across cloud platforms.
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a solution designer in Data Domain.
  • Expertise in Data Modelling, E2E solution designing, component level understanding.
  • 5+ Years experience on Azure data stack (ADL, ADF, Purview, Synapse CI/CD…).
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in Pyspark/PySQL
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with a range of DBMS and formats both distributed and otherwise (i.e. list example of technologies needed)
  • Experience in consuming and transforming from Enterprise eco-systems.
  • Experience working with Cloud Data Warehouses solutions and data migration between on-prem to cloud and cloud to cloud.
  • Experience in implementation of CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience in real-time and batch processing data.
  • Experience in Agile, Jenkins, Git, continuous integration/deployment.
  • Handson experience on reporting tools – PowerBI and TM1.
  • Experience working in prioritizing between project work and operational work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to work well in cross functional teams.
  • Motivated self-starter, results-oriented with strong communication and customer focus
  • Possesses a flexible attitude and is willing to work with a range of technologies and languages with an open mind and without bias.
  • A constant learner, actively interested in updating skill sets and knowledge, following trends in the Data community.
  • Demonstrated skills under Strategic Framework for the Information Age (SFIA)
