Senior Data Analytics and Reporting Advisor
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission have several exciting opportunities for experienced data analytics and reporting specialists.
The Senior Data Analytics and Reporting Advisor is responsible for contributing to and preparing complex reports for a variety of audiences including senior management, Senate estimates, Commission and Compliance Management Group (CMG) reporting.
The role will take lead primarily in supporting the CMG with monitoring performance of compliance activities and reporting against key performance measures. The position will also conduct risk-based performance reporting, supporting the CMG operational plan and development of processes that influence strategic planning. This role will also offer a unique perspective of working collaboratively across all business areas within the Commission. It also provides an invaluable insight and experience in researching and analysing compliance and financial data reporting to senior leadership group, the Commissioner and Ministers.
To succeed in this role, you must be forward thinking, have exceptional problem solving and analytical skills including being able to prepare communication to a range of stakeholders including briefings, minutes, correspondence, and reports.

About the section
The Senior Data Analytics and Reporting Advisor works in the Aged Care Reform and Operational Strategy section which sits within the CMG of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. It supports CMG to implement strategic and data-driven best practice regulation through data research and reporting and prepares educative material for the sector about its legislated responsibilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Collating and managing data, and intelligence from multiple sources to support evidence-based decision making to effectively monitor the group’s performance against key performance measures.
- Draft well-written documents for a range of audiences, including senate estimates briefings, coroners’ enquiries and freedom of information requests, work instructions, weekly and monthly performance reports and building operational reporting dashboards of varying complexity, ensuring consistency between policy positions and legislative frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver business outcomes and contribute to a positive work culture and respond to all enquires and requests in a positive and timely manner to ensure that deadlines are achieved.
- Ongoing maintenance of section’s SharePoint site and administrative duties as required.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Key capabilities
- Contribute to strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical research.
- Experience contributing to and preparing data dashboards and complex reports using Microsoft Excel and Power BI for a variety of audiences including senior management.
- Ability to work within a team, contribute to the work of others to meet deadlines and ensure work is delivered against Commission objectives.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Well-developed organisational, time management, and project management skills.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
- Experience in framework and/or policy development, program planning and governance; compliance processes or project management/support.
- Experience using Power Apps, ServiceDesk plus and/or SQL as desirable but not essential.

- satisfy a National Coordinated Criminal History Check

SELECTION PROCESS NEXT STAGE
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to confirm availability to complete a written assessment. The written assessment will be emailed to candidates at an agreed time with an assessment duration of 20 minutes (5-minute reading and 15-minute assessment).
Shortlisted candidates with satisfactory written assessments will progress to the next stage of the selection process and be invited to interview. All candidates with unsuccessful to progress to interview will be notified.

MERIT POOL
A merit pool of suitable candidates may be created from this selection process. Suitable candidates placed on the merit pool may be contacted in relation to identical or similar vacancies on a non-ongoing and ongoing basis at the Commission, or the broader APS, within 18 months from the start date of this advertisement.
Non-ongoing opportunities may be offered with an initial engagement of up to 18 months, with one possible extension of up to 6 months (a total maximum contract period of 2 years).
