People and Culture Professionals - Multiple Roles

 

AUSTRAC is launching a bulk recruitment for People and Culture professionals across the APS5 to EL1 classification (mid level to senior level positions). This recruitment process will be used to fill current vacancies and build a merit pool for future roles in the next 18 months.   • Learning and Development: Empower our people to shape AUSTRAC’s future capabilities.   • Payroll and HR technology: Take the lead in enhancing our Payroll Operations and HR systems. By building smooth, efficient processes and system improvements, you’ll ensure that AUSTRAC’s workforce is supported by efficient, user-friendly systems. You'll be leading end-to-end payroll process, ensuring our people are paid accurately, and on time. 
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing: Pave the way in safety, health and the welfare of our people, where your expertise will create a safe, secure and supportive workplace. You’ll focus on preventative action to minimize workplace hazards, psychosocial risks, stress and injury. You'll drive a positive safety culture at AUSTRAC through the implementation of risk management strategies and by educating our staff. 
  • Diversity and Culture: Play a key part in supporting AUSTRAC’s key asset, its people, by shaping a culture in which people are trusted, inclusive, collaborative and impactful.   • Talent Acquisition and Recruitment: Uncover, engage, and evaluate top-tier talent, leveraging your bright ideas and creativity with talent acquisition strategies.   • Workforce Planning and Data analytics: From succession planning to critical role analysis, your work will directly impact AUSTRAC's success and long-term resilience. You'll drive data-driven workforce planning, ensuring the AUSTRAC is equipped to respond to future challenges. You'll transform complex data into actional insights to analyse labour market trends, address capability gaps, optimise our talent strategies, and mature our Leadership Strategy.

These roles involve a variety of responsibilities, which may vary based on the role and can include:

  • Learning and Development: Plan, design and organise the delivery of learning programs. Support the creation of AUSTRAC's induction project and improve the capabilities and performance of AUSTRAC's workforce. 
  • Workplace Relations and Policy: Develop, update, and implement policies to support AUSTRAC employees, aligning with agency and Australian Public Service priorities and legislative requirements. Support our workforce in taking early steps to address instances of behaviour contrary to AUSTRAC's values and expectations. 
  • Payroll and HR technology: Deliver customer centric payroll, conditions of employment and organisational structure functions. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to execute the payroll, tax and superannuation processes. 
  • Diversity and Culture: Partner with leaders to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace, drive employee engagement initiatives, and optimise the employment life-cycle.
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing: Develop and implement a robust WHS Framework, plans, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. 
  • Talent Acquisition and Recruitment: Develop and implement a talent acquisition strategy and provides a holistic approach to sourcing, attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining talent. Provide advice on recruitment best practices, APS policies, legislation, market trends, and talent acquisition strategies. 
  • Workforce Planning and Data analytics: Develop and implement strategic and operational workforce planning for AUSTRAC. Identify workforce challenges and opportunities through analysis of workforce data and delivery of workforce solutions and initiatives to support current and future needs.

To be eligible for this role you:

  • Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply.
  • Will need to undertake AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
  • Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance.

AUSTRAC has entered an exciting phase of growth and maturity, driven by the implementation of critical AML/CTF legislative reforms. We are expanding our teams to support our evolving needs and to continue driving our mission of fighting financial crime. 

We are conducting a bulk recruitment process to:

  • Fill roles within the People and Culture Job Family. 
  • Fill any similar vacancies which may become available in any of the locations listed in the advertisement, and
  • Build a merit pool for future roles in the next 18 months. 

The merit pools established from this recruitment process will be valid for 18 months from the date of advertising. This merit pool may be used throughout this period to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant.
