ASD is home to multiple technical and non-technical teams that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These teams are on the lookout for talented, motivated individuals attracted to shift work. Roster patterns vary between teams but all shift roles require working day, night, weekend and public holiday shifts, in return for generous shift penalties and additional annual leave.

Just a few of the roles we are looking to fill are:

  • ASD6 Shift Team Leaders
  • ASD4-6 Information Security Analysts
  • ASD4-6 Signals Intelligence Analysts
  • ASD4-6 ICT Support - System, Services and Network
  • ASD5-6 Duty Watch Officers

Successful candidates may be offered roles in one or more teams depending on skills fit, location and current clearance level.

About our Team

National Cyber Watch Office - Australian Cyber Security Centre

The Australian Cyber Security Centre’s National Cyber Watch Office is our 24/7 operations team and is the first point of contact and reporting for Australians seeking advice and assistance on cyber-related matters.

Our shift teams are responsible for a broad range of duties, including receipt and triage of cyber security incident reports, providing initial remediation and mitigation advice to victims, situational awareness and early warning on emerging cyber threats. They also conduct routine reporting and briefing to internal and external stakeholders across government and industry. From members of the public to members of parliament, the NCWO is ready to advise and assist at all hours.

Australian SIGINT Operations Centre (AUSOC)

The AUSOC 24/7 team maintains ASD’s global situational awareness and is a central point of contact for ASD, particularly outside of business hours. Our team monitors a wide variety of all-source reporting across multiple ICT platforms, and provides reliable 24/7 support to seniors, mission areas, deployed liaison officers, partners and military personnel.

Enterprise Operations Centre (EOC)

The EOC offers ICT support to Defence Intelligence Agencies, the Australian Defence Force and the wider Australian Intelligence Community. We are seeking highly motivated, technically minded individuals with a strong customer service focus to join our ICT support team. We primarily perform a combination of first and second level monitoring and support for many ICT Systems, Services, Applications and Networks.

Support to Operations

ASD has a range of opportunities available providing critical 24/7 support to operations and other ASD activities.

These roles have a range of responsibilities including production of signals intelligence, preparing and delivering routine briefs and reports on operational matters, maintaining standard operating procedures, team management, and ensuring compliance with legislative, policy and security frameworks.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking enthusiastic and high-performing individuals with a superior standard of interpersonal and organisational skills, sound judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to be responsive to challenging tasks under limited supervision.

All roles have desirable knowledge and experience, but if you are highly motivated, love complex and challenging roles and have an aptitude to learn, we want to hear from you.
