The Role
These multi-disciplinary positions work in teams responsible for the delivery of ICT sustainment services that develop, implement and manage sustainment frameworks for Defence ICT capabilities.
These positions work closely with Defence business areas and Defence industry partners to ensure Defence ICT is secure, stable and fit for purpose. 

The roles involve primarily stakeholder management with elements of service management, contract management, project management, some ICT technical knowledge, procurement and financial management.

As well as filling current vacancies, CIOG intend to use this opportunity to formulate a strong national merit pool to fill anticipated future vacancies within application and platform sustainment directorates.

About our Team
CIOG application and platform sustainment directorates responsible for managing Defence’s ICT systems sustain and enhance a secure, stable and modern ICT environment for Military, Enterprise and Operational demands, delivering an exemplary user experience through our responsive, flexible and professional workforce.

We achieve this through the:

  • Management of applications across enterprise resource planning, finance, human resources, logistics, information management, whole of government and security domains, and
  • Management of the delivery of End User Compute, Application Hosting and Platform Services to Defence.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful applicants will contribute to the ongoing sustainment and enhancement of ICT services across CIOG by driving a customer centric approach and a focus on stakeholder engagement.

To be effective in these roles you will work under broad direction with other CIOG functions, and Defence business stakeholders to achieve effective and efficient delivery of business outcomes.

This will require highly developed communication and relationship management skills. Service management, contract management, some technical ICT knowledge, project management, procurement and/or financial management skills would be beneficial.

CIOG is interested in applicants who may not have experience and skills in all of these areas, so long as applicants can demonstrate an aptitude and ability to develop them.
