The Role

The Department of Defence is seeking an experienced pharmacist to work in a dynamic role as a senior clinician providing guidance on clinical practise and standardised service delivery within garrison, along with high level technical advice in pharmacy to both internal and external stakeholders.

You will be expected to perform complex business analysis to provide insights and assessment of workflows in primary care, and suggest improvements and innovation in the delivery of pharmacy services. You will manage the performance of the pharmacy service across multiple health facilities throughout the country driving national consistency in practise and access to care.

You will be required to mentor and develop a geographically dispersed and large pharmacy workforce around the country.

About our Team
Joint Health Command (JHC) is responsible for the delivery of military medicine and healthcare to Australian Defence Force personnel.

The Assistant Director Garrison Pharmacy Services will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team within the Directorate of Clinical Services in Garrison Health Branch, all aiming to achieve best practice care, standardised workflows, and efficiencies within their respective craft groups.

The team is comprised of allied health professionals, medical professionals, and business and data managers. The team is a mix of remote workers and Canberra-based staff.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will demonstrate extensive pharmacy experience, critical thinking skills, be proficient at analysing workflows and business processes, provide recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes, and manage the implementation of agreed actions.

They will have experience in managing, developing and mentoring staff through performance appraisal and change, providing expert clinical mentoring and training to assist in the development of staff.

Along with experience in working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across all levels, they will be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
