The Role
This recruitment seeks to fill an EL 1 Compliance Verification & Platform Support Engineering Manager within the Naval Aviation Systems Program Office (NASPO).
The EL1 Compliance Verification & Platform Support Engineering Manager in NASPO is an exciting opportunity for a professional engineer to apply their skills in engineering management, aircraft design, data analysis, certification and verification activities.
The engineer will hold the required engineering authority to lead and advise a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical staff in the development, certification and integration of aircraft design changes.
The role will be responsible directly to the NASPO Chief Engineer.
About our Team
Located at HMAS Albatross in Nowra, NASPO is primarily responsible for delivering through life support for Navy Aviation programs, including the MH-60R Seahawk, Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS), maritime aviation support systems and tactical unmanned aircraft systems.
Under the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR), NASPO are the Military Type Certificate Holder (MTCH) for the Navy MH-60R Seahawk and EC135 helicopters. NASPO hold design privileges for all Defence rotary aircraft under Part 21J of the DASR and perform continuing airworthiness services on behalf of the Navy’s Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM).
Our Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated Skills and experience in aviation systems engineering, ideally with specific experience in rotary aircraft systems.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the aviation regulatory environment.
- Effective problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
- Ability to effectively use engineering data analysis tools and technology.
- A demonstrated ability to manage and lead a diverse team on complex projects.
- The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes.
- Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
- The Ability to work with and mentor junior engineers.
