The Role
As a Map Store Manager, you will be expected to perform a range of duties and roles including:

  • Ability to utilise systems to coordinate printing and reprographic activities
  • Offer sound technical advice in printing and publishing practices
  • Prioritise activities dependant on customer needs
  • Monitor distribution lists and requests for ADF Mapping and Charting requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee the provision, storage and distribution of Hardcopy maps to the ADF, including undertaking warehousing and dispatch operations.
  • Manage stock holdings of ADF Maps and Charts, the appropriate consumables and co-ordinating reprinting requirements of those Maps / Charts.
  • Operate and maintain a database to reflect holding currency, including accessing and utilising Map request proforma.
  • Operate office machinery, including large format scanner, paper cutter, laminator, and plotting/printing machinery.
  • Operate office computer and software, including Microsoft Office, Esri ArcView, data transfer computer and drives, stock control and transport software.
  • Operate handheld and ride-on forklift. (current forklift licence is desirable but not essential)

Foundation GEOINT Production (FGP) is responsible for the production, acquisition, management and distribution of Foundation GEOINT to support Defence and Australia's national security interests. Foundation GEOINT is the geospatial data and products created to a specific standard and can add significant value to an activity that requires a geographic location. This includes maps, charts, imagery, elevation and feature data that are considered essential in Defence capability and high level decision making.
