APS6 Cherwell Developer, Information Services Branch

 

As part of the Integration Unit in the Enterprise Systems team, you will have primary responsibility for the development and administration of the Cherwell IT Service Management Tool. You will contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective ticketing system to The Treasury.

The Integration Unit has several close-knit teams including data administration, application development and digital workspaces. We also are the drivers of generative artificial technology in the Information Services Branch and you will have opportunities to engage with and extend into these areas as opportunities arise. We have a culture first approach with a focus on collaboration and respect. All Treasury staff can access working from home arrangements under our flexible workplace policy.

We are seeking applicants with at least two years’ development experience with IT Service Management software solutions. The position is Canberra based however if you are the right candidate, there may be opportunity for remote work.

As a Cherwell Developer your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement effective solutions that optimise workflows, scripts and processes.
  • Testing and implementation of upgrades, system enhancements and IT integrations in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Applying upgrades and patches to maintain platform security and stability, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practice.
  • Monitoring the performance of the platform, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Managing the archival of data and ticketing requests to ensure optimal performance and reliability of tool.
  • Collaborating with project teams and business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for the implementation of new ITSM products.
  • Maintenance of business-focused collaboration and agility in approaches in how Cherwell is maintained and supported.
  • Development and maintenance of documentation including system administration manuals and training material.
  • Maintaining high levels of system security though regular reviews of processes.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a developer for an ITSM tool, experience with Cherwell preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the ITIL 4 Framework with a focus on change and problem management.
  • Proven track record in developing and configuring high quality solutions to support improved business outcomes.
  • Experience with designing and implementing complex workflows and automation within ITSM software.
  • Strong analytics and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think strategically and critically.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritises effectively and meets deadlines.
