Full Time Research Officer

 

SINGAPORE HIGH COMMISSION IN CANBERRA

The Singapore High Commission in Canberra (SHC) has an opening for a Full Time Research Officer (RO). The RO’s responsibilities will be: 

  • Media coverage and research work; and
  • Supporting the SHC’s social media functions, diplomatic events and official visits. 

The RO will be part of a Canberra-based two-member team. 

The SHC seeks applicants who are able to commit to the role for at least a year.  

The remuneration package includes a starting salary of A$59,640 in the first year and other discretionary bonuses. The annual remuneration excluding 11% superannuation could be in excess of A$74,500 in the first year. The SHC observes all ACT public holidays and Singapore’s National Day, and offers leave benefits in accordance with the National Employment Standards.

We hope to recruit an RO with the following attributes:  

  • At least an undergraduate degree, preferably in a discipline with a research background;
  • An interest in Australian politics, policy-making, and foreign policy;
  • Strong analytical, writing and oral communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media; 
  • An ability to multi-task and meet set deadlines; and 
  • The temperament to work with a diverse team of colleagues at the SHC.
