The Deputy Secretary Strategy in the Department of Defence,  Peter Jennings, has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI). His appointment will take effect shortly for a term of five years. 

 

He will take over from the outgoing Executive Director, Major General Peter Abigail (Retd).

 

Mr Jennings has nearly 25 years of experience in defence and strategic policy, including experience in the Department of Defence, research and teaching positions in academia, and a previous stint as Director, Programs for ASPI.

 

ASPI is an independent, non-partisan policy institute, funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Defence.

 

The Chair of the ASPI Council, Mr Stephen Loosley, has been reappointed for a term of three years.
