Total Salary Package: $68,673.28 – $117,586.08 (plus 15.4% super)

About the Role
The Assembly Technician(s) will produce, maintain and support electronic devices through manual electronics construction, assembly and rework. This includes electronics inspection and the operation of manual electronics production and rework equipment. 

ASD4 Assembly Technician: 

  1. Perform straightforward technical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
  2. Conduct investigations and contribute to the development of technical documentation for review.
  3. Apply trade knowledge and gain experience, understand priorities to identify, define issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Understand and ensure safety aspects of the Australian Signals Directorate capability are considered and incorporated into technical trade activities and tasks.
  5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of trade knowledge, processes, product and equipment.

ASD3 Assembly Technician: 

  1. Perform straightforward technical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
  2. Inform investigations and contribute to the development of technical documentation for review.
  3. Apply knowledge and gain experience, understand priorities to identify, define issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Understand and ensure safety aspects of the Australian Signals Directorate capability are considered and incorporated into technical trade activities and tasks.
  5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical knowledge, processes, product and equipment.

ASD’s Operational Engineering team enables and supports the conduct of intelligence, security and military operations through development and deployment of unique electronic and mechanically engineered solutions, and provision of electronics and mechanical expertise to the intelligence community.

Our Ideal Candidate
Ideally the successful applicant(s) will be a qualified or a practicing electronics technician, or from related trades which possess the refined motor skills and the meticulous attention to detail required for this position, such as a dental technician or jeweller or similar. On the job and formal training is also offered to build your career in this field.

The ideal candidate will work well in a team environment and contribute to the development and growth of the electronics production capability. With capacity to grow into roles where you can detect capability gaps, predict future capability requirements and derive paths to improve the capability or electronics products to fill these requirements.
