The Role
Airborne Surveillance Control and Intelligence Systems Program Office (ASCISPO), located at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW and RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA, performs sustainment and major capability upgrades for the Air Force's fleet of E-7A Wedgetail and MC-55A Peregrine systems. 

The Security Advisor is a key member of the Security Team and is responsible under limited direction to achieve quality outcomes and support the delivery of complex information and physical security work within an integrated workforce. They are required to have the ability to develop and maintain an understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

They will be required to confidently present information and build positive relationships with stakeholders to: 

  • Support the development developing and maintaining of security policies, plans and procedures in line with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) for review and publication. 
  • Support the regulations, monitoring and reporting on ASCISPO’s security, conduct security threat and risk assessments, and promote security awareness. 
  • Support the management of security incidents and conduct, facilitate or assist in investigations.  

As the ASCISPO Security Advisor you will find yourself working in one of Australia's premier tourist destinations, the Hunter Valley. With idyllic surf beaches in Port Stephens and Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter wine region, hiking trails and the Barrington Tops National Park, all within a couple of hours of the RAAF Base Williamtown.

ASCISPO is located at RAAF Base Williamtown in the beautiful Port Stephens region and offers access to flexible working conditions to support work life balance and an attractive remuneration package including a generous superannuation contribution of 15.4%. Defence provides relocation assistance to eligible APS employees required to relocate. The level of assistance will vary depending on the reason for relocating and your personal circumstances.

This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material be in accordance with the United States Arms Export Control Act.
