Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Research and Data Analyst a contract until June 2021, with potential extensions of 2X 12 months.
Position Overview

The Policy and International Engagement (P&IE) team Research Officer will support DRES to leverage Industry data to take a targeted approach to Reservist and employer engagement and measuring outcomes. This capability will be paramount to successfully implement the required changes and support the Directorate to build sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with strategically relevant stakeholders, to enhance capability. The position will be responsible for effectively generating, gathering, storing, analysing and using data to contribute to decision making and shaping DRES future activities.

Duties/Role
The position will be responsible for effectively generating, gathering, storing, analysing and using data to contribute to decision making and shaping DRES future activities. The position provides an important link, connecting DRES with the broader agenda (for example: what needs does client have that it is reliant on Reservists to fill) both to drive Advisory Body discussions and to shape the agenda for DRES engagement and event planning, delivery of activities and support to Reservists and employers.

Specific duties and responsibilities for the position are:

  • Support DRES to understand data requirements and develop research goals to support DRES take a targeted approach to Reservist and employer engagement activities.
  • Use various methodologies and sources to gather and analyse recent and relevant data and information to achieve research goals.
  • Analyse and interpret patterns and trends to identify insights.
  • Prepare written reports to present findings to required stakeholders.
  • Provide data and information insights as required to assist in the preparation of Ministerial writing tasks including submissions, briefs and responses to representations
Qualifications / Skills / Experience Requirements
Qualifications, experience and skills in a data analytic role is essential, including a demonstrated ability to interrogate information management systems/databases, manipulate data using Microsoft Excel, and develop graphical data for inclusion in reports.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • The successful candidate will be required to have a Baseline clearance.
