The Role
Do you want to help lead Defence in its journey to become a more data-informed organisation?
We are seeking the right people to play a key role in driving cultural change in Defence and delivering Defence Logistics Systems business transformation.
APS 6 Data Team Leader and APS 5 Data Management Officer role will be to assess, evaluate and improve data quality, data security, business intelligence strategy, data initiatives, and data projects. Undertake business intelligence work within an integrated workforce responsible for the transition, planning, implementation and coordination of business requirements, data migration and management of current and future identified logistic systems. Both are Melbourne or Canberra based positions.
APS 6 Maintenance Systems Officer role will be to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics maintenance support work within an integrated workforce. They will provide detailed materiel logistics maintenance support, technical professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. Melbourne based.
APS 5 Technical Maintenance SME role will be to perform on-going business and user support to achieve materiel logistics maintenance support for Defence aviation within an integrated workforce, including: on-site mentoring; interpretation of processes; analysis of issues; downtime procedures and participation in user acceptance testing. They will provide detailed materiel logistics maintenance support, technical professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. Melbourne based.

About our Team
The Directorate of Logistics Systems Sustainment (DLSS) is located in Melbourne and Canberra Offices, and is one of three directorates within Logistics Systems Branch.
The Directorate consists of a blended APS, ADF and contractor workforce, many with deep subject matter expertise and specialist skills. It is agile to meet the changing business demands of the organisation, including embracing ERP.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be capable of working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders. Understand what is required to prepare and transition our organisation through business transformation initiatives ready for the Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program. They will be able to manage the priorities and needs of the customers to meet and exceed their expectations by being able to work in a fluid environment by remaining flexible, agile and adaptable. Have a good level of computer literacy, knowledge of logistics systems and business transformation initiatives.
