Commissioner, Anti-Dumping Commission

The Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) is a vital player in Australia’s trading system, ensuring a level playing field for the country’s world-class manufacturing sector as it competes with its global peers. Alert to World Trade Organization rules and governed by a domestic legal framework, the ADC’s 80 multi-disciplinary staff ensure that the rules-based global trade system functions properly for Australian producers by investigating claims that dumped or subsidised imports have injured their businesses. Where lost market share or profitability has been established, the anti-dumping system imposes import duties to raise the price of the imported goods, so it better reflects a fair market price.

Reporting directly to the Minister for Industry and Science, the Anti-Dumping Commissioner deftly walks the line between domestic responsibilities and global interests, balancing the competing tensions of timely delivery of multiple investigations, generating evidence-based, defensible outcomes, and maintaining Australia’s reputation as a world leader in rules-based trade.

We are looking for an outstanding leader with a deep understanding of Australia’s broad ranging manufacturing sector. The new Commissioner will be an excellent communicator with extensive knowledge of the international trading environment and the pressures faced by Australia’s industry players.
